In my latest post I talked about future jobs but I forgot to mention something very important that also applies to this new post: one of my goals is becoming a teacher. I hate our current educational system but I care about education because it's pretty bad here in Chile. I'd like to study pedagogy in arts, because the chilean educational system doesn't care at all about arts, the mayority of artistic schools are privates or expensive and I didn't have an appropiate artistic formation, which saddens me. I believe that arts should be a fundamental part on everyone's growth, but only a privileged minority has access to this kind of formation. I'm very interested in the relation between cinema and education, I'd like to investigate and experiment pedagogic ways of teaching and learning through cinema as a teacher. It's a very interesting approach because I want to learn new things working with other people, helping them with their own projects and discovering new perspectives and subjectivities. The best part of pedagogy is that everybody can learn something new!
I don't know if I'll be able to pay more studies with my future filmmaker and teacher salaries, but I do want to study a lot of things that are interesting to me. I'd love to study art theory and history, and I also like musical composition, aesthetics, philosophy, linguistics, literature, history and visual arts. But I doubt I'll study all this things, it's a lot of money and time and dedication, and I also have to work and care for my personal life.
Another thing I love is learning new languages, it's very interesting and I always find it easy. The languages I'm more interested on currently are german, italian, portuguese, japanese, korean and chinese. But like most things, you can learn self-taught, albeit you need to speak with someone else and read on that language to practice.
