My favorite anime series of the year

I don't have any favorite tv show or series but this year I fell in love with an anime series called Yakusoku no Neverland ("The Promised Neverland"), it's an adaptation of Kaiu Shirai's manga series about a group of orphan children, led by eleven years old Emma, who make a plan to escape from the orphanage "Grace Field House" in the year 2045. The first season of the anime adaptation aired between january and march of 2019, covering the first story arc in 12 chapters, and a second season was announced to be released on 2020 (I can't wait!).

This series caught my attention because its plot is pretty good and well-thought. I don't want to spoil anything, you just have to watch the first chapter and you'll be trapped by the story. That plot twist at the end of the chapter means everything to me, that was the moment I realized I was wacthing something big. There are a lot of complex characters and the background story is fascinating, with a lot of plot twists throughout the story that gives you new information of the world and change your perspective of the plot, and every single chapter ends with a cliffhanger and more questions than answers. Also, I think this series reflects some aspects of our real world that aren't represented with a critical point of view on other series, it has a strong political message in my opinion and that's what makes me love it so much. If you watch the first episode until the end you'll understand what I'm talking about.

Of course, after watching the first season I instantly searched and read the manga on internet, and I'm currently up to date. A manga chapter is published every month and the latest one was number 153 on October, 2019. The story is currently in the climax of its final arc, I can't believe all the things that have lived these children during their journey, and I also can't believe it's already finishing. :(

Well, I'm very excited for season two of the anime! I hope they keep doing a good work with the adaptation. I highly recommend you to watch it, at least give chapter one a try. You won't regret.

Now I want to watch the anime adaptation of Kimetsu no Yaiba ("Demon Slayer"), I haven't read the manga but it always appears as a suggestion when I'm reading other manga series, and recently (actually, today, an hour before I had english class) a friend of mine told me he is watching this anime series and that it's pretty good. We watch a lot of anime together and share a lot of tastes, so I trust him and will give it a shot! Maybe tonight before I sleep.
